Gay Parenting Assistance Programs exist to help gay couples in their pursuit of starting a family. There are significant obstacles that parents face when it comes to surrogacy. These obstacles can range from financing a surrogacy to finding an egg donor. When you’re dealing with these issues, it can be hard to find support. However, Simple Surrogacy is here to help!
We have several resources specifically geared toward gay couples going through the process of surrogacy. Simple Surrogacy is proud to be donating to and supporting gay assistance programs that help gay couples start families of their own. We believe that financial struggles should not prohibit anyone from starting a family through surrogacy.
Men Having Babies has an excellent program, called the Gay Parenting Assistance Program (GPAP) devoted to giving financial support to gay couples who want to start their families. Some of their services include issuing cash grants to intended parents during the surrogacy process and providing the resources for discounted (sometimes free!) services from over fifty surrogacy and IVF agencies.
GPAP has been wildly successful and is a much-needed resource for gay intended parents on their surrogacy journey. The program is open to gay couples who are in need of financial assistance to start a family. Additionally, the program offers a host of information on hundreds of agencies and clinics to help gay couples make a more informed decision when it comes to who they choose to work with. The program’s financial assistance for intended parents consists of 2 stages:
The application process is easy. You simply download and submit their application packet. There is a non-refundable $20 fee. Stage 1 applications are accepted year round. The stage 2 application is available to those who have completed the stage 1 applications and qualify for stage 2 assistance based on special criteria. Residents of the United States, Canada, Israel, and a few European countries are eligible for both stages of the program. However, there are some countries that are only eligible for stage 1 assistance. Additional information can be found here.
