What are Egg Donation Arrangements?

Egg donation helps individuals and families have babies each and every year. Many women suffer from infertility or have a history of genetic diseases that prevents them from having children of their own. These women look to egg donation so that they can select a donor and use their eggs to have children. This process wouldn’t be possible if selfless women didn’t donate their eggs to help. In order to encourage more women to participate in this life altering act, Simple Surrogacy offers three types of egg donation arrangements to suit every type of donor!

Egg Donation Arrangement

The egg donation arrangement is a large component of whether or not a woman will donate her eggs. Even if she knows that the reason she is donating her eggs to provide someone else with a family of their own the attachment, or lack thereof, to the eggs she is donating can be difficult to grasp. That’s why we have three different types of donation arrangements to fit every type of donor!

Anonymous Donation

Anonymous donation means you will not know who the intended parents are and they will not know anything about you. This means that you may not even know if your eggs result in a pregnancy. Many people choose this type of egg donation arrangement because it makes the process easier to separate from. The donor does not feel attached to their egg and the intended parents do not feel obligated to report back to the egg donor or update them about the status of the pregnancy and the child.

Semi-Open Donation

In a semi-open donation arrangement, a small amount of information is exchanged between the parties. This option of egg donation arrangement provides a little more personal attachment between the egg donor and the intended parents. Even though it is a small amount of information that is exchanged knowing each other’s names and states can help make the exchange feel more real.

Open Egg Donation

Open Egg Donation is just that, open. All information is shared between the parties and an open line of communication is created. When this open of egg donation arrangement is selected, both parties are making the conscious decision to be apart of each other’s lives. Knowing all this information about someone makes them more than just an egg donor or an intended parent. This level of comfort makes them more of a friend or family member.
No matter what type of arrangement you select, you must let the team at Simple Surrogacy know so that you profile can be updated and posted for intended parents to see!
